Charles Xavier COURT Seelie. TITLE The Whispermage. OCCUPATION N/A. ABLE TO FAST-TRAVEL N/A. RESIDENCE IN 2,701 Caer Glaem. RESIDENCE IN 2,702 Caer Glaem and his watchtower on the Cathraon Plains (and a key to a house in Maupertius, but few people know about that.)

SUMMARY At the beginning of the timeskip, Charles helped the Seelie forces at the Battle of An Càrn Dubh by recreating the image of the fallen dragon Sura and using his telepathy to spread dissent among the Unseelie ranks and dissuade people from fighting. The suffering of the people around him and the extent to which he pushed himself (while using his shard) took a large toll on him, especially when he called out to Erik Lehnsherr for help after being shot. On the one hand, it encouraged the two mutants to mend a rift they'd only skirted over, which is tied to Charles deeper issues (see: information). On the other, he started to realize that winning in the Drabwurld wasn't going to be quite like what it was back home. In the following year, Charles focused on socialising and gaining a reasonable amount of influence and power within the Seelie Court. He took on a quest from Lancelot and chased off Unseelie soldiers from the borders of Glaschu. Along with better exploring his telepathy, he was booned astral projection, and in the latter half of the year began to explore the magical potential his shard lent him (which can account for the months that aren't listed below.) By the end of the timeskip, he'll have finished construction of his watchtower on the Cathraon Plains and will be implementing his skillset to become the spymaster for Marchioness Hermione Granger. TIMELINE OF EVENTS SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) MARCH - Charles helped the search and rescue missions via astral projection and later providing assistance in his physical form. APRIL - Thanks to the dream harp, he embarassingly yelled about his feelings to Erik and was grumpy for the rest of the month thanks to everyone's mind yelling EMOTIONS!!! at him. MAY - Mostly concerned about the sudden disappearance of the monarchs along with everyone else and hunting with Hermione and Snow White for golden swans. SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug) JUN Charles will be heading along to the Treun tourney to cheer on the friends who are participating. FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov) OCT - Drinking, dancing and revelry at Samhain. WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb) DEC - During Yule he was turned into a rabbit by the White Hart and spent the period being protected by Erik in Maupertius. He later returned on Christmas Day when he was given Floo powder by Hermione. SPRING IN 2,702 (Mar, Apr) These months were spent building a watchtower on the Cathraon Plains, including some brief downtime thanks to an attack by the skeletons of warriors past. Thankfully Charles turned that to his advantage.

[Dorian is wrapped up for the weather in his own warm clothing, boots and breeches, jacket, cloak, even hat and scarf. But when he sees Charles wrapped up like that by a fire, he frowns and draws closer to him.]

Mr Xavier?

[From the look on his face, Dorian isn't certain what has happened. Or if he should be alarmed.]

[Drawing closer, it may be possible to see the soft green glow emanating from his chest underneath the blanket and put two and two together that he's doing something with his shard. And then Charles' voice says Dorian, both mentally and aloud, before everything syncs back self-contained in his own mind. He blinks a few times, before looking up.]

How nice to see you. [He uncrosses his legs, wiggling his toes to get the feeling back.] Don't mind me, just doing my bit for the search and rescue.

[For a moment, Dorian isn't even certain if he heard the voice there. Then he takes a step closer, curiosity seeping in. When he crouches beside Charles, he radiates warmth towards him.]

How?

Telepathy - I can read minds and alter their perception. [He doesn't think he's told Dorian directly, but around Caer Glaem it's an open secret, especially since the battle and the dragon. But the less word spreads to the other side of the battle lines the better.] My range is already significant but the shard increases it. And then the monarchs were so kind as to gift me the ability to leave my body, although it seems it can't stretch further than Glaschu.

[That still covers a lot. With Cerebro, he was able to extend from Virginia to the Arctic, but Cerebro had precise settings. Shard magic still needed some fine-tuning.]

[It isn't immediate: the instant reaction is confusion, an attempt to understand. But then Dorian's secrets flash through his head, and he tries to bury any thought of them, to forget what he knows. It isn't that he distrusts Charles, but the longer he is here, the more he feels it better to keep secrets as quiet and as unknown as possible.]

I—see. Ah—you look cold. Do you want me to help you?

[He's tempted to remind Dorian that he's read Mr Wilde's collective works, or that despite all their secrets people are usually less interesting than they think they are, but no, be nice. Be nice because Dorian is being nice and because he's used to it by now.]

It's more a pre-emptive measure than anything - I don't really feel my body with the new ability and I don't want to come back to a block of ice. But yes, please.

I have to mark the runes; forgive me a moment. [He takes out his sword, but it is clear in a moment he doesn't mean to use it on Charles. Rather, his sword marks runs in the dust around Charles, setting out specific instructions on what the spell is to do the moment Dorian engages the sympathetic link.

And he does so shortly after, humming a brief bar from a short song. When he does so, the heat begins to seep into Charles's clothing, the cape, and away from the fire that is beside him. He does not take all of the fire's heat but a fraction of it becomes imbued in the cloth. It is like being wrapped up by fresh-out-of-the-dryer towels.]

I hope that is a comfortable level of warmth.

Oh my God - [It's so toasty.] That's bloody amazing. [Language be damned. He gives a not very dignified but completely indulgent sigh.]

I really need to figure out how to start using magic. I've read a lot of theory but beyond magnifying my own abilities, I'm woefully inadequate. Mostly I've been focusing on other necessary skills, like defence and archery. [Or he was, but these days his arrows are likely to be blown off course with the weather.]

[He flushes, pleased at making Charles happy with his magic.] If you wish it, I can give you the notes I have on magic from my research. They were where I started.

I very rarely say no to reading material. [Which would be a yes.] It's getting used to the change, too. When I use the shard it feels more...volatile than what I'm used to. My telepathy comes from my emotions; the shard is part of something bigger.

[It makes a certain kind of sense: the shard is part of that great stone. It makes for a great change.] You've been trained in its use?

[cerebral]

Yes, but only when it comes to amplifying my own gifts. No magic, not yet at least. [It had been enough work retraining his telepathy since his arrival.] How did you get started?

Books, in the library. I haven't tried working with my shard beyond what the magecraft must be requiring.
